By adding a new HEALTH HABIT you can live intentionally to accomplish your goals.

Ben Franklin focused on 13 DIFFERENT VIRTUES to change how he lived his life and focused his intention to learn and change.

Here is a list of the 13 VIRTUES (1) he worked on:

  1. TEMPERANCE – “Eat not to dullness; drink not to elevation.” Eat till you are full, and don’t drink too much
  2. SILENCE – “Speak not but what may benefit others or yourself; avoid trifling conversation.”
    Be encouraging and positive in your relationships
  3. ORDER – “Let all your things have their places; let each part of your business have time”
    Organize your life by creating habits that help you manage your time better
  4. RESOLUTION – “Resolve to perform what you ought; perform without fail what you resolve” 
    Firmness of purpose, Integrity – do what you say you will do.
  5. FRUGALITY – “Make no expense but to do good to or there or yourself”
    Plan to Waste nothing, including your money.
  6. INDUSTRY – “Lose no time; be always employed in someone thing useful; cut off all unnecessary actions.”
    Be productive, if you have nothing to do, spend time improving yourself.  Listen and read to positive input.   If your too tired sleep. If the tiredness continues, practice self care and see your doctor to test and be sure its not your thyroid, B12 or iron deficiency.
  7. SINCERITY – “Use no hurtful deceit; think innocently and justly and if you speak, speak accordingly.”
    Lift up, love and lead others.  Don’t mislead someone.   Use the sandwich approach if you need to
  8. JUSTICE – ‘Wrong none by doing injuries, or omitting benefits that are your duty.”
    Bless others, Win/Win in every interaction. 
  9. MODERATION – “Avoid extremes, forbear resenting injuries so much as you think they deserve.”
    Behave towards others so as not to bring harm.
  10. CLEANLINESS – “Tolerate no uncleanliness in body, clothes, or habitation.”
    Your health and how you present yourself to the world is important.  Practice hygiene.  Keep your yourself, clothes, home, and office clean.
  11. TRANQUILITY – “Be not disturbed at trifles, or at accidents common or unavoidable.”
    Hydroplane over the crap and don’t take water samples.  Our circumstances don’t define us.  When you can’t control the situation, choose how to positively respond.
  12. CHASTITY – “Rarely use venery but for health or offspring, never to dullness, weakness, or the injury of your own or another’s peace or reputation.” Be modest and decent.
  13. HUMILITY – “Imitate Jesus or Socrates.” Be the greatest servant.  Give credit to where it is due.

How would you live intentionally?    What would you include in your list?    Make it a daily practice.  Add it to your calendar as a reminder of what you are working on for that day, week or month.
